The first of four transposers in the collection, this example has the biggest range with a full octave to choose from. The keyboard has 100 keys in order that no matter what position is selected, the piano will still have 88 keys. In all but the Vough, transposition is accomplished by sliding the set of keys beneath the action thereby lining up each key with a new hammer. Both the Heintzman and the James & Holmstrom use a similar method but to a lesser degree.
