Chickering Square #6536 (1845)

One of the earliest full plate pianos made in the US, this piano was completed in February of 1845. It was supposed to feature cast in damper guides and a cast in bridge near the tuning pins according to the 1840 patent. As seen in the pictures the damper guide rail is made of wood as is the bridge. Perhaps after building some pianos using a cast system, they found that the old system was superior.
